EMEI KNOWS HOW TO PUT ON AN INSANE SHOW
Emei's The Rabbithole Tour came to Manchester this February and I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was to get tickets to finally see her then to later find out she was bringing Haiden along with her too!
I've followed Emei and Haiden for around 2 and a half years now so I felt this show was well overdue for me, and it was most insane night. As much as it wasn't the loudest crowd I've ever been in, the atmosphere was still great! Emei's music is something I can't begin to describe really, you know when you hear something and it just scratches your brain? (In all the right ways of course) that’s what Emei's music does for me, actually obsessed since I stumbled upon her a few years ago.
Emei is non stop from the second she steps on that stage, her energy is insane and undeniably infectious, she brings every song to life, incredible vocals in every single song and she's an all round amazing woman, I did not expect to cry at an Emei gig if I'm honest (I usually cry at gigs but really did not expect to at this one) Emei sang a new heart wrenching song dedicated to her late grandma, this was such a beautiful moment, Emei had come into the crowd and got everyone sat on the floor whilst she took some time to sing something so incredibly bittersweet, a memory that will stay with me forever, Emei must be like wonder woman or something, I don't know how she manages to sing such an emotional song night after night, I'm in awe of her, and eternally grateful for her vulnerability with this one.
Emei's stage presence is incredible and it's safe to say every single person in attendance felt like they was part of something so special for a few hours, nothing in the outside world mattered whilst we sing and danced our way through this gig. I always think about how beautiful music is and how amazing it is to feel every ounce of joy possible when seeing your favourite artists live, I always say music and concerts are my safe haven, my place of safety and refuge, no matter what I'm going through when I'm at a concert, I'm safe, I'm ok, I'm happy.
Emei made me feel so safe, and put on such an incredible show, as did Haiden!
Haiden has been a safe place for me these last couple years, when everything in my life was spiralling out of control, music was my constant, it's just been banger after banger from him and it's made any low mood of mine turn around.
Haiden took to the stage and got everyone's attention that's for sure, you can throughly see how much Haiden loves doing what he does and I seriously can't wait to see him headline one day, I'll be at every uk show for sure!
Haiden belongs on the stage and I'm so proud of how far he's come and how far I know he'll go! Haiden involved the whole crowd and won over anyone there who didn't already know his name, he was none stop the whole time he was on stage, apart from stopping to have a shot with a fan then stopping again to chicken out of a joke I'd made with him a week before the gig, I best not say too much because I'm already going to be teasing him for life for him chickening out.
Haiden crashed Emei's set to sing a Justin bieber cover with her and honestly it was chaotic but every one in the room loved it, as much as we were at a concert it truly felt like we were all friends and just having some weird ass party together.
Emei & Haiden made every single person in that room forget about the outside world, and I truly believe that's how concerts should be. 2025 has big things coming for the both of them, they're ones to watch for sure!
After the gig we had the pleasure of meeting Haiden and honestly he's such a sweetheart, he had so much time for us which is refreshing. During the gig when Haiden came into the audience he told me he liked my shirt and when we met him it was one of the first things he said to me again, before following it up by telling me we have matching lockets, I told him it wasn't his and he laughed and said his locket he was wearing wasn't his also, when I looked back on videos both me and Haiden are holding our lockets whilst talking to each other and it was kinda cute that it made me laugh.
I asked Haiden why one before the one wasn't on the set list, we then spoke about videos of my daughter singing in which he had seen before, he asked if he could sing a little bit for her so then she's got a video of him singing it back to her which was so freaking sweet, I may have joked about how I was serenaded in the street by Haiden...
I then asked Haiden why he chickened out of what I had joked about, we had a good laugh about it and I told him when he headlines I'll make it happen. Haiden then asked if we wanted photos which was super kind, I wasn't going to ask as my friend was recording anyway and honestly I was just happy to stand talking to him, but we got some photos together before we joked around some more, honestly he just had so much time for us it was really nice to talk to him and have a good laugh.
This night was so fun and I'm so grateful I got to experience seeing two of my favourite artists up on stage doing what they love and thriving, Emei is overwhelmingly talented and I was in awe watching her all night, I wish I could have done more than one of her uk shows, maybe next time 👀
